Our adoption process is very straightforward and we aim to settle our cats into their new homes as quickly as possible. We are also still here for any guidance or advice that may be needed after a cat has been homed
Our cats will receive full medical treatment and general health support, along with the added bonus of being fostered on a one-to-one basis, so you can be sure that the cat or kitten you are considering adopting is happy and healthy
By the time your cat or kitten is ready to go to his new home he will have been:
- Fully examined by a veterinary surgeon
- Fully vaccinated
- Treated against fleas, tapeworm and roundworm
- Neutered (kittens will be neutered post adoption)
He or she will also come with four weeks Petplan insurance, which you may choose to continue, giving invaluable peace of mind and reassurance as you and your cat embark on this lifelong friendship
While the love and attention our cats get comes free, these other aspects such as veterinary treatment, neutering and microchipping have to be paid for. None of this comes cheap but we think it is worth it to provide you with a happy healthy cat. On average we spend well in excess of £150 per cat in our care, including food and litter. That is why we ask all adopters for an Adoption fee of £60. It allows us to carry on helping cats in need. We are grateful as every penny helps towards the next cat waiting for our help. Our branch is self funding and volunteers work hard throughout the year to raise funds to look after the cats in our care. Adoption fee explained. ADOPTION PROCEDURE
Because we want to find the right home for each cat and the right cat for each prospective owner, we carry out a friendly home check before adoption. This gives us time to have an informal chat with you and to answer any questions you may have, and to fill in the paperwork required by Cats Protection. page for more details.
